Bone Cancer/Sarcoma

Unfortunately cancer is extremely common in the population and the lifetime risk of developing cancer is 50%. Reassuringly there have been large improvements in the medical and surgical management of cancer and fortunately patients are living longer with their diagnoses.

When the cancer comes from either the  soft tissues or from the bone, rather than from another part of the body that has spread to the bone this is termed a "sarcoma".

When cancer from another organ in the body and spreads to the bone this is termed "metastatic bone disease".
